Otis Johnson Obituary, Death; – Police have confirmed the identity of the individual who lost his life in a head-on collision on Clifford Avenue in northeast Rochester early Wednesday morning.
Otis Johnson, a 58-year-old resident of Rochester, succumbed to injuries sustained in the two-vehicle accident, as stated by Capt. Frank Umbrino of the Rochester Police Department. The tragic incident took place at approximately 12:15 a.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Clifford Avenue and Sixth Street.
A woman operating a vehicle traveling westbound veered into the eastbound lane, colliding head-on with Johnson’s car, which he was driving alone. Both Johnson and the westbound driver were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Unfortunately, Johnson passed away shortly after his arrival, according to police reports.
The other driver, a woman in her 30s, remained hospitalized as of Friday with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, Umbrino noted. The police have not disclosed her identity.
The Rochester Police Department’s Major Crimes Homicide Unit is actively investigating the fatal incident. As of Friday morning, no charges had been filed, Bello reported.
