According to the Los Angeles police, Oscar Omar Hernandez was reported missing by his family on Sunday.
His family informed Eyewitness News that the teenager had taken a Metrolink train to Palmdale to assist a soccer coach at a local facility. When he failed to return home that evening, his family grew concerned and began searching for him, ultimately reporting him missing that same day.
On Wednesday, authorities located his body alongside a road in Oxnard. The investigation involved collaboration between the LAPD, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, and the FBI. The boy’s mother is heartbroken over the loss of her son. Gladys Bautista expressed her desire for assistance in identifying the individual responsible for her son’s tragic fate.
Bautista characterized her son as a joyful child with a passion for soccer, who was eagerly anticipating the arrival of his visa to visit family in Honduras. Detectives continue to investigate the case, and the cause of death remains undetermined.
