Cooper Honig, a 2023 graduate of North Harford High School, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 7. The Ocean City, Maryland, community is mourning the news of his passing. Honig was believed to have committed suicide. Honig participated on the high school golf team. In his junior year, Cooper Honig had only “played golf for three to four months.” In his most recent game at Furnace Bay, Honig shot 44, but the Hawks prevailed.
Cooper was a wrestler at North Harford and just graduated on May 29th. The Honig family lost Cooper while he was in senior week.
There are major emotional, physical, and financial repercussions from suicide and suicide attempts. Suicide attempt survivors may have severe wounds that might affect their health in the long run. In addition, they could struggle with depression and other mental health issues. The health and wellbeing of friends, loved ones, coworkers, and the community are impacted by suicide and suicide attempts. When someone commits suicide, their remaining loved ones may go through protracted sorrow, shock, rage, remorse, depressive or anxious symptoms, and even suicidal thoughts.
