The WCC community is particularly close to the Richardson family, and the departure of Norma will be keenly felt by all members of the community. Her loved ones and family members are in our thoughts and prayers at this time. At the age of ninety, Norma Jean Richardson, who was a cherished member of the Diana community and a much-loved mother, died away on January 21, 2024. Norma Jean was a woman who was born on March 7, 1933, and she was well-known for her kind heart, her culinary skills, and her everlasting trust in Jesus Christ.
Norma Jean was a respected member of the community who, in the late 1980s, became the proprietor of her own café in Diana and ran it well. People in the community have happy memories of Norma Jean, who is known as the genius behind the “Best Hamburger Ever Made.” Norma Jean’s café was a haven for the residents. At her café, Norma Jean made sure that no one left hungry, regardless of whether or not they had money in their possession. She has won a unique place in the hearts of her clients thanks to her kind and generous nature, as well as the delectable home-cooked meals she prepares.
It was not just the café where she displayed her culinary skills. She was so skilled in the kitchen that her recipe for sweet potato pie was even included in the book titled “The Best in Texas,” which is a testimonial to her remarkable cooking ability. There were many people who affectionately referred to her as “Nanny,” and she would frequently use her lovely voice to sing to her loved ones as she was cooking meals in the kitchen. A soundtrack of love and warmth was given by her tunes, and it will forever reverberate in the hearts of Barry, Michael, Bobbie, Susan, and the rest of her family.
The importance of Norma Jean’s family cannot be overstated. Whether it was playing spirited card games, gathering around the table for a meal, or happily celebrating all of the holidays, she appreciated every time that she was able to spend with the people she cared about the most. Her unwavering love and devotion to her family were truly admirable, and they left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
