Nora Devine Death: Nora Devine, a beloved member of the Lincoln Park, MI community, has passed away with great sadness. Her family and friends are in mourning for the loss of a woman who, despite the immense adversities she encountered, remained a source of love and support to those in her life. Nora’s narrative is a testament to her resilience, as she has survived the tragic loss of her companion, foster care as a young girl, and the passage of both of her children. Nine years ago, she was institutionalised as a result of a horrific accident.
Despite this, she relentlessly advocated for her grandchildren and great-granddaughter, who brought her tremendous pleasure. It is with the heaviest of emotions that we announce the passing of my Aunt Nora, as Kimberly Joplin shared a heartfelt message on Facebook. She was a constant presence in our lives, providing an attentive ear, a place to stay if necessary, and an abundance of affection. Although her life was more challenging than that of the majority, she persevered in her efforts to remain with those who remained.
Nora was not only a devoted family member but also a proud veteran of the United States Army, who served her country with distinction. Kimberly Joplin has organised a fundraiser to assist in the funding of Nora’s funeral and memorial services. So far, $365 has been contributed by benevolent donors, and the objective is to raise $9,000. The funds will be allocated to funeral expenses, burial costs, transportation, and memorial arrangements. Theresa Bates and Catherine Wells, who each donated $100, are among the generous contributors, as are Kristy Lowe, Anonymous, and Rebecca Kovach. The departure of Nora has elicited an outpouring of support and sympathy from friends and family on Facebook.
Tariq Williams expressed his regret for the family’s loss in a message, while Dawn Norfolk-Ross added, “Sending you and the family hugs.” Arja Heneweer Sanfilippo and other acquaintances conveyed their anguish by stating, “I am deeply sorry to hear this.” “She must have been an extraordinary woman!” The community continues to extend its affection and condolences to the individuals who were left behind by Nora. Nora’s legacy of compassion, fortitude, and love will endure in the souls of those who knew her. She will be profoundly mourned, as her compassionate nature and warm smile touched many.
