GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT/QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Emergency crews responded to a plane crash in Greenville early Friday morning.
A Beech A36 Bonanza aircraft went down around 7:50 a.m. Friday, March 14, near North Memorial Drive and Belvoir Road, not far from the Pitt-Greenville Airport.
Authorities confirmed that human remains were found at the crash site, but no survivors have been located. The plane went down behind Consolidated Pipe and Supply Company, though no employees at the facility were injured.
Greenville Police, State Highway Patrol, and the Greenville Fire and Rescue Department have secured the area and are investigating. North Memorial Drive is expected to be closed for the day, with drivers urged to avoid the area.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will take over the investigation once they arrive.
