Nicola Colangelo Obituary, Death; – A 14-year-old boy from Woodland Park tragically lost his life in a bicycle accident on Monday, as reported by local authorities. The mayor of Woodland Park, Tracy Kallert, confirmed the identity of the young victim as Nicola Colangelo.
According to police reports, Colangelo was riding his bicycle amidst traffic when he collided with the side of an SUV at the intersection of Rose Place and McBride Avenue. He was declared dead at the scene of the incident.
In a statement, Kallert expressed, “Nicola was a beloved member of our community, recognized for his vibrant spirit, infectious kindness, and exceptional sense of humor. He possessed a remarkable talent for bringing joy to those around him.”
Colangelo was a student at Passaic Valley Regional High School, where crisis counselors were made available on Tuesday to support students coping with this tragic loss. Funeral services for Colangelo are scheduled for Sunday at Santangelo Funeral Home, followed by a funeral Mass on Monday morning.
