NFT — The online marketplace for digital collectible toys known as Cryptoys has recently made the news that it would be launching a brand-new collection known as “Mickey and Friends” in the month of September of this year. Will Weinraub, the CEO of Disney, made the observation that “this is the first time that people will experience Mickey Mouse in this way.” Andreessen Horowitz’s web3 startup Cryptoys is releasing a new collection that will contain some of the most iconic characters from the Disney universe, like as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Pluto. This collection follows the release of crypto collectibles based on Disney’s popular Star Wars characters. Crypto items are going to be featured in the new collection.
In 2017, Cryptoys was successful in raising $23 million thanks to a funding round that was headed by a16z Crypto and included participation from toymaker Mattel, Dapper Labs, Draper & Associates, Acrew Capital, CoinFund, Animoca Brands, and Sound Ventures. Additionally, a16z Crypto served as the funding round’s lead investor. In September, the business will launch its collection of digital toys titled “Mickey and Friends,” with a price tag of $39.99 for each individual toy in the collection. During the livestream that took place earlier today, it was disclosed that the collection will have rarity structures that are analogous to those of previous releases. These sets have cards with several degrees of rarity, including Common, Rare, Legendary, Grail, and Ultra Grail varieties, and each set features five unique variations of Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto cards.
In the past, a business that was once known as VeVe Digital Collectibles was responsible for the distribution of NFTs that were modelled after the icon that is universally recognised as Mickey Mouse. “Mickey and Friends are the most beloved and recognised characters in the world; it’s an honour for us to work with Disney in bringing these cherished friends to life as digital collectibles with unique designs,” said Will Weinraub, CEO and co-founder of Cryptoys parent business OnChain Studios. “Mickey and Friends” is an abbreviation for “Mickey and Friends Are the Most Beloved and Recognized Characters in the World.” The phrase “Mickey and Friends Are the Most Beloved and Recognized Characters in the World” can be rearranged to form the anagram “Mickey and Friends.”
