(PINPOINT WEATHER) — Happy New Year!! A cold front has been crossing the region, bringing clouds and a small rain & storm chance to parts of our area. Most neighborhoods stayed dry. That will be the case if you’re going out for New Year’s Eve tonight! The exception is in the mountains, where snow showers will be kicking in overnight and into Wednesday morning. Up to 1-3 inches of accumulation is possible, so watch for some slick areas on roads by morning!
The wind is another part of tonight’s weather story—a Wind Advisory is in effect for the mountains through Noon Wednesday, with gusts to 50 mph expected. It’ll stay breezy through New Year’s Day everywhere!
Full sunshine returns for the first day of 2025, but it will be cooler. Seasonably cooler, with highs in the mid-50s. That’s typical for early January.
Another front comes in a mostly dry late week, ushering in even colder weather for the weekend into next week. A little moisture could be in the mix by early next week, leading to some wintry mix potential—even outside of the mountains—by Monday. Something we’re watching!
Tonight: Mostly clear and breezy. Low 41.
New Year’s Day: Sunny and breezy. High 54.
