NORTH CAROLINA (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — As of Feb. 7, the NC Department of Health and Human Services reports 106 verified Hurricane Helene-related fatalities in the state.
Since January, the death toll has risen by 2 with the latest death stemming from Henderson County. Officials say a 96-year-old woman died on January 6 due to complications from hypothermia after her home washed away from flooding.
