Nancy Crissman Obituary Hastings, Florida – It is Nancy Crissman, The unfortunate passing of a native of Hastings, Florida has passed away. Her parents, Lemuel G. Groce and Venetta Mader Groce, both passed away before she was born. Nancy received her diploma from Lock Haven High School in the year 1957. It was on September 7, 1963 that she tied the knot with Jack G. Crissman, who passed away before her in the year 2001. During her 21 years of service, Nancy held the position of Clinton County Auditor until her retirement in 2011. She also served as the President of the Pennsylvania Association of County Auditors in the past.
She was a devoted member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Flemington, where she had previously participated in the choir. She was a dedicated member of the church. For fifty years, Nancy was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She also served on the board of directors of the Clinton County Republican Party in the past. Additionally, she took pleasure in her time spent singing in the Lock Haven Community Choir. She leaves behind three daughters, Kathy Smith (Carl) of Castanea, Ruthann Long of Bellefonte, and Jacqueline Hahn of Bellefonte; two sons, Ellery Crissman, II of Bellefonte and Christopher Crissman (Christina) of State College; a brother, Thomas Hoober of New Holland; eighteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by a brother. Nancy’s parents and husband were among the people who passed away before her. She was also predeceased by her two sisters, Jacqueline Groce and Carolyn Kline. Additionally, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank R. Crissman, who went away on June 19, 1986; a son named Jeffrey Scott Crissman; and her siblings, Eleanor Harkness and William Hile. Her parents were also among those who passed away before her. Her son, Frank C. Crissman, and his wife, Tamsin B., both of Reedsville, as well as her daughter-in-law, Linn Crissman, of Pittsburgh, are the only members of her family to survive her passing.
Nancy participated in the choir and served on the church council at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Milroy, where she was a member. It was in 1948 when she graduated with honors from Milroy High School. Nancy was a devoted mother and a caretaker of the home. She found that her job as a school bus driver for the Mifflin County School District was quite enjoyable. Whether it was inside the house or outside in the yard, she enjoyed working hard. While she was growing up in the vicinity of Meshoppen, she attended Meshoppen High School and graduated with the class of 1956. After working for Penns Best in Meshoppen for sixteen years, Nancy retired in 1996 as their Comptroller in the Accounting Department.
She had been employed there for a total of sixteen years. Nancy attended both the Meshoppen United Methodist Church and the Retta United Methodist Church. She was a member of both churches. In addition to that, she was a participant in the Retta Birthday Club. Nancy is survived by her husband, Paul E. Crisman, whom she married on September 15, 1956; her daughter Tammy Perry of Tunkhannock; her twin daughters Teresa Hennessy of S. Waverly, PA and Lisa Tesluk of Tunkhannock; her grandsons Paul Tesluk and Michael J. Tesluk both of Tunkhannock, Adam Hennessy of S. Waverly, and Ryan Perry of Tunkhannock; brothers Richard Tyler of North Carolina and Charlie Tyler of Wyalusing, PA; sister’s in law Nancy Tyler of Meshoppen, Elaine Fuller and her husband William of Vestal, NY, and Mary Jane Crisman of Randor, PA; as well as many nieces and nephews. All of her siblings, including her sister Isabelle Condor, her brothers Carlton Tyler, Lester Tyler, Levi Tyler, and Cyrus Tyler, passed away before her. Her parents were also among those who came before her.
