Myeisha Moore Obituary, Death; – A 57-year-old man from Milwaukee is facing a felony charge related to the murder of a woman whose body was discovered in a garbage cart in December.
Johnny Williams has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide as an accomplice in the death of 40-year-old Myeisha Moore, also from Milwaukee. Moore’s remains were located in a garbage can in an alley on December 2, situated behind a church and several homes on the 2000 block of North 38th Street.
According to prosecutors, Williams acknowledged his acquaintance with Moore, admitted to being with her on the day she was fatally shot, and transported the garbage can to the location where her body was ultimately found. He has denied that Moore was inside the cart during its movement.
Local residents expressed to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel their distress and unease regarding the circumstances surrounding Moore’s death and the manner in which her body was disposed of.
Details from the criminal complaint outline the police investigation into the homicide.
The complaint indicates that Williams was arrested more than a month after Moore’s death. It references the examination of security footage, which reveals a five-minute interval between the time Williams, Moore, and a third individual were seen walking together and the moment Williams was observed placing the garbage cart in the alley.
Prosecutors assert that during this interval, Moore was murdered and her body was concealed in the garbage. The complaint does not specify a motive for the crime. As per the criminal complaint: Authorities were alerted to the discovery of Moore’s body on December 2. Investigators found no evidence of gunfire in the area, implying that the garbage cart had been relocated to that spot.
Additionally, workers from a nearby residence provided police with photographs of the alley taken the day before, which showed that the garbage cart containing the victim had not been present on the afternoon of December 1. The following day, police detectives visited Moore’s home, located two blocks from where her body was found, and interviewed a man who was later identified as Williams. At that time, he falsely claimed to be his brother, Dennis Williams.
