Murder: Lyons man, Randolph L. Scott, 37 Identified as Victim Charged With Second-Degree Murder
LYONS, New York
— Another man was discovered dead at an apartment building on Maple Street, and a Lyons man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with his killing.
After being discovered in a nearby home, Randolph L. Scott, 37, who resides in the apartment where the victim was discovered dead on Saturday, was placed under arrest. In addition to the murder accusation, he was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon on Sunday morning. With no bail set, he is being held in custody until September 26 for a hearing.
Shawn G. Rahn, 40, a resident of Lyons, was confirmed as the victim by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 10:36 a.m. on Saturday, deputies were called to the apartment complex located at 24 Maple St. in response to reports of shooting and domestic violence. Rahn was discovered dead with gunshot wounds. According to Wayne County Sheriff Robert Milby on Saturday, the suspect was identified by law enforcement and taken into jail “a short time afterwards.”
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the inquiry is still ongoing.
The inquiry has received assistance from the Clyde Police, Wayne County EMS, and the New York State Police.
