Motorcycle Accident Springfield IL, 1 dead, 1 injured After Collision: One person has tragically died following a motorcycle vs. vehicle crash that occurred on Friday afternoon. The Springfield Police Department responded to the incident at 12:58 p.m. at the intersection of North Dirksen Parkway and Sam’s Place.
Upon their arrival, an off-duty Springfield firefighter was found administering CPR to the motorcyclist. Despite these efforts, the motorcyclist was transported to Springfield Memorial Hospital for treatment but unfortunately did not survive. The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision was taken to HSHS St. John’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time. The Springfield Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
