34-year-old Violet Dessie Foster of Crystal Creek Road in Morganton was arrested by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers on May 24 on felony counts of first-degree burglary and larceny after breaking & entering.
At about 12:12 a.m. on May 23, the Sheriff’s Officers responded to a residence on Crystal Creek Road in Morganton regarding a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported that he was awakened during the night and found a female in his residence taking property. When the homeowner confronted the female, she ran from the residence.
The following day, the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division reviewed camera footage obtained from the homeowner and immediately identified the offender as Violet Dessie Foster. A warrant was issued for her arrest.
Foster was taken into custody at her residence without incident. She was jailed under a $25,000 secured bond. She remained in jail as of this morning (May 29). An appearance in District Court was set for May 30 in Morganton.
