Molly Cassidy Obituary, Death; – The individual responsible for the shooting incident that resulted in one fatality and three injuries in Clatskanie on Saturday has been identified as 32-year-old Anthony Hanson, according to a statement from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office released on Monday morning.
Authorities believe that the altercation escalated from a disagreement, leading Hanson to draw a firearm and shoot four individuals within a residence on IImari Road. One of the victims, 21-year-old Ryan Thies, returned fire, fatally wounding Hanson, as reported by the CCSO.
Molly Cassidy, aged 28, was declared deceased at the scene. The other injured parties, Patrick McKenzie, 25, Renato Pascoal, 28, and Thies, were transported to medical facilities, with Thies being airlifted by Life Flight due to his critical condition. The current status of their health remains unknown.
The nature of the relationship among the five individuals involved is not yet clear. The CCSO has indicated that no arrests have been made, and the investigation is still in progress.
Sheriff Brian Pixley of the CCSO stated, “We are conducting a thorough review of all evidence, including witness statements, to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic situation.” He also expressed gratitude to the Oregon State Police, St. Helens Police, Scappoose Police, and Rainier Police Departments for their support.
