The collision resulted in the deaths of Derek Moffett, 55, of Erie, and Patricia Moffett, 83, of Overland Park, Kansas. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Alexandria Moffett, 19, and a 16-year-old girl, both from Erie, sustained serious injuries.
They were life-flighted to Research Medical Center in Kansas City for urgent medical care. The 16-year-old driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was taken to the Western Missouri Medical Center with minor injuries. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
