A talented homemaker, Mildred took joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid quilter, creating beautiful pieces that told stories of warmth and love. Her green thumb found expression in her garden, where vibrant blooms mirrored the beauty she cultivated within her family.
One of Mildred’s favorite pastimes was working on puzzles, a symbolic reflection of her patient and meticulous nature. Beyond her hobbies, she will be forever remembered as a loving grandmother, creating lasting memories with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren.
In the tapestry of Mildred’s life, love and family were the central threads. She shared a lifetime of memories with her husband, James R. Ackley, whom she married on June 11, 1947. Together, they weathered the storms of life, creating a legacy of resilience and enduring commitment.
Mildred’s journey in this world was marked by both joy and sorrow. The loss of an infant daughter, Linda Marie, and an infant grandson, David Nicholas Ackley, were poignant chapters that revealed the depth of her strength and faith.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Patty (Ron) Dimmerling and Pam (Don) Bickford, and her sons, Jim (Charlene), Jeff (Debra), Rick (Angela), and Dave (Theresa) Ackley. Her extended family includes grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were touched by her love.
Mildred’s siblings, Marilyn (Tim) Fleming, and her late brothers and sisters, formed the fabric of her early life, creating a bond that withstood the test of time.
