Mike Snyder Death News: Buckeye Allis Club INC Mourns Longtime Member
Mike Snyder Death – The Buckeye Allis Club (BAC) is deeply saddened to report the passing of longtime club member Mike Snyder. Michael (Mike) Edwin Snyder, a loyal husband, loving father, and devoted pawpaw, passed away on July 10th at his residence in North Robinson at the age of 67. Born in Bucyrus on December 1st, 1956, to the late Edwin and Katherine (Fackler) Snyder, Mike was also preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Snyder.
A Life Full of Love and Dedication
Mike was a 1975 Wynford graduate. His love story with Tina (Wagers) Snyder began when she was 17, and he was 21, with a little help from a polka-dotted bikini. After being her second senior prom date of the night, they became inseparable, marrying on November 14th, 1981. They have two children who survive: Christina (Jeremy) Huston and David (Shelby) Snyder. Mike was a constant presence at every Colonel Crawford girls’ basketball game, football game, and track meet, cheering on his children.
A Beloved Pawpaw
As much as Mike loved being a dad, he cherished his role as pawpaw even more. His grandchildren, Alex Hartman (Christina), Maxton, and Makenzie (David), were his pride and joy. He delighted in watching Alex play football, wearing the same jersey number #75 as he and his Uncle David did. Mike also loved garden tractor pulling with David, Alex, and Maxton and watching his grandsons compete in kiddie pedal-pulls. A hug from Makenzie was all it took to melt his heart.
A Career in Mechanics and Passion for Tractors
Mike spent 50 years as a tractor mechanic specializing in Allis Chalmers tractors. A graduate of Lincoln Tech in Indianapolis, Indiana, he worked at Lemke AC Dealership in Marion, Ohio, Schmidt Machine in Upper Sandusky, and ran his own business, Snyder Repair, in North Robinson for the last 20 years. He was the first president of the Crawford Antique Farm Machinery Association and remained an active member until his passing. Mike also belonged to the Ohio Buckeye Allis Club for many years.
Remembering Mike’s Legacy
Mike and his son David shared a passion for parting out and restoring AC tractors. His most prized restorations included his Allis Chalmers A, D-19, WF, and his 1946 WC antique puller. In retirement, Mike could be found at many Gathering of the Orange Farm Shows nationwide as an Allis Chalmers vendor, selling farm toys and memorabilia with his wife Tina, or engaging in antique and garden tractor pulls, and watching his son truck pulling across Ohio.
Funeral Arrangements and Obituary
Memorial donations can be made to the Crawford Antique Farm Machinery Association. Family and friends will gather on Friday, July 12th, from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm, followed by burial at Oakwood Cemetery. Mike Snyder’s legacy of love, dedication, and passion for tractors will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
