Miguel Trujillo Gonzalez Obituary, Death; – The man who was shot and killed in Merced over the weekend has been identified as 41-year-old Miguel Trujillo Gonzalez by the Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office, as stated by Deputy Michael Domingue.
Police were called to a disturbance at a residence on Conestoga Drive at around 3:41 p.m. on Saturday, according to Merced Police Sgt. Jeremy Salyers. Upon arrival, officers found the victim inside the residence with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following interviews with witnesses and examination of video surveillance, investigators pinpointed a 14-year-old boy as the shooting suspect, as per police reports. The suspect was apprehended at a San Jose motel and taken into custody on Monday.
The suspect has been detained at the Iris Garrett Juvenile Justice Correctional Complex on suspicion of homicide, according to law enforcement officials. It is believed that the disturbance may have stemmed from a dispute over money related to drugs and the potential prostitution of a woman at the residence.
