Michael Wehdah Obituary, Death; – The man shot and killed in the Russell neighborhood over the weekend has been identified as 44-year-old Michael Wehdah.
According to an internal memo sent to Metro Corrections staff, Wehdah was employed as a corrections officer when he was killed. He was off duty at the time of the shooting.
LMDC Director Jerry Collins described Wehdah as a “hard-working, dedicated and inspirational officer.” He went on to write, in the internal memo, “his death will have a significant impact on all of us.”
Wehdah was new to the LMDC officer role. He graduated from the training academy in November of 2024.
