Michael Sartin Dania Beach, FL Death: We are very saddened to inform you of the demise of Michael Owen Sartin, who passed away yesterday morning at his home in Dania Beach, Florida, after a month-long illness. There, he was surrounded by his family and friends. Derek, his dedicated companion of 25 years, and Shannon Austin Sartin were there to console Michael during his dying moments. Michael’s final minutes were spent in their company.
Michael’s life was characterized by love, resiliency, and a spirit that showed no signs of fading. Although his sickness was a difficult trip, his last days were filled with the love and support of those who valued him. His illness was a trying road. A recent visit on his birthday, which took place only the Thursday before last, provided an opportunity for sincere connection, which in turn provided those who were closest to him with a sense of calm and closure at the same time.
For the purpose of paying tribute to Michael’s memory, there are plans to have a memorial ceremony in Norris as well as to spread his ashes at the breathtaking Mt. LeConte, a location that has a particular meaning for him. It will be notified at the appropriate time when these commemorations will take place, which will provide his family and friends the opportunity to be together and commemorate his life.
Michael Owen Sartin left behind a legacy that is characterized by love and connections that last. To those who knew and loved him, his departure leaves a hole in their hearts; yet, his memory will continue to be a source of solace and motivation for as long as the world exists.
