Michael Paul Lowry Obituary – One person has died in a motor vehicle accident reported in Robeson County. The incident took place on Thursday afternoon at around 2:20 p.m. According to official reports, a 2014 GMC Terrain was involved in a collision with a 2014 Ford Flex. The incident blocked multiple northbound lanes of Highway 710, causing disruptions throughout the area. EMS responded to the scene to care for the involved parties.
One person involved in the accident was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim was identified as Michael Paul Lowry. Three additional victims were injured. One victim was flown by medical helicopter to UNC-Chapel Hill Hospital for emergency care.
The second victim was transported to McLeod Regional Hospital in Florence by medical helicopter. One additional victim was flown to Grand Strand Medical Center for treatment. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
