Michael Morrow Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identity of a Jacksonville man who lost his life in a hit-and-run incident on Friday along Old Maplehurst Road.
Michael Morrow, 41, from Jacksonville, succumbed to injuries after being struck by a vehicle and was discovered early Friday morning on the shoulder of Old Maplehurst Road, in proximity to N.C. 53, as reported by 1st Sgt. John Edwards of the N.C. Highway Patrol. Morrow was located in a ditch adjacent to the former Southwest Tires establishment, situated at 1354 Old Maplehurst Road.
Investigators are actively seeking a vehicle of interest, described as a white pickup truck with an extended cab, according to Edwards. The truck is believed to be an older model, manufactured between 2005 and 2010, and exhibits minor damage to the right side resulting from the collision.
Troopers continue to investigate the incident, but no further leads have emerged, Edwards stated. No arrests have yet been made. Individuals with any information are encouraged to contact the N.C. Highway Patrol in Onslow County at 910-347-1751.
