Michael Marino Obituary, Myrtle Beach SC, May 19, 2024: Michael A. “Mike” Marino, 77, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 19, 2024. Born on November 20, 1946, in Charleston, WV, he was the son of the late Henry and Ethel Richardson Marino. Michael was a charismatic entrepreneur who relocated his young family from Charleston, WV to Myrtle Beach, SC to pursue a career in real estate. Throughout his career, he excelled in various roles, from a young sales professional to a seasoned mentor, making significant contributions to the Myrtle Beach real estate market.
Beyond his professional achievements, Michael cherished his extended family, the members and staff of the Dunes Golf and Beach Club, where he was an active member for over 30 years. He loved traveling with his wife and son, Patrick, to destinations worldwide. Later in life, he was fortunate to travel with his grandchildren, Alex and Siena. A loyal and proud member of St. Andrews Catholic Church for nearly 40 years, Michael was known for his warm and friendly demeanor, never meeting a stranger.
Michael is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Sue Marino, his son Patrick, daughter-in-law Terra, and grandchildren Alex and Siena. He is also survived by his brother Henry Marino Jr. (wife Karen), brother John Marino (wife Bronwyn), sister Mary Lou Albert (husband Mike), and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends and family on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach from 5:00-7:00 PM. Following the visitation, the family will gather at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club for a time of fellowship, laughter, and remembrances about Mike.
