Michael Lewis, And Gustavo Moreno Death; Men Killed In McKinney Plane Crash Identified: MCKINNEY, Texas – Two men who tragically lost their lives in a plane crash just south of McKinney National Airport have been identified by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Michael Lewis, 67, of Forney, and Gustavo Moreno, 53, of Royse City were both killed in the crash. The incident’s lone survivor, 35-year-old Randy Williams, is currently in critical condition at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
The aircraft departed from McKinney National Airport at approximately 10:22 a.m. on Thursday. Shortly after takeoff, the plane crashed, impacting a large mound of gravel. First responders, including police, firefighters, and paramedics, were quickly on the scene.
FAA records indicate that the plane, a Cessna model 414A manufactured in 1980, was registered to Hunger Relief Ministries, based in Forney. The plane was last certified in 2023.
