Michael Espinoza Arrested; – A man was fatally stabbed during a confrontation in west Phoenix, as confirmed by the Phoenix police.
At approximately 5:10 p.m. on April 7, officers responded to reports of a fight occurring near the intersection of 59th Avenue and Indian School Road. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man suffering from at least one stab wound. He was transported to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries, according to police reports.
The suspect fled the scene; however, law enforcement later located and apprehended him. He has been identified as 35-year-old Michael Espinoza. Police stated that following the altercation with the victim, Espinoza also brandished the knife used in the stabbing to threaten others nearby.
Espinoza has been charged with several offenses, including murder and aggravated assault, and has been booked into jail. As of April 7, the identity of the deceased man had not been released. Authorities indicated that further details regarding the incident are part of an ongoing investigation.
