Michael Andres Pineda Lozano Obituary – The gunman responsible for the tragic incident outside a Chase Bank in West Kendall has been identified as Michael Andres Pineda Lozano, a 41-year-old individual. Miami-Dade Police reported that Odalys Bancroft, a 43-year-old woman, was in her minivan with her 4-year-old son when she stopped at the bank’s ATM. Lozano, who was in an SUV, pulled up next to her and opened fire, resulting in the deaths of both Bancroft and her son. Lozano then took his own life.
It has been revealed that Lozano was Bancroft’s ex-boyfriend. Despite some concerns about him, there were no apparent signs of the extreme violence that occurred. Bancroft’s brother, Michael Trujillo, described her as a kind-hearted and empathetic person. Bancroft held the position of director of regulatory affairs at Jackson Health System and had a successful career in the healthcare industry. Her son, Theodore Couto, affectionately known as Teddy, had recently graduated from PreK-4 and would have turned five soon. The incident was captured on video by a witness, but the footage was paused before the fatal shot.
Trujillo expressed disbelief and stated that he could not fathom any situation that would drive a normal person to commit such a heinous act against a woman and her child. Teddy’s father was present at the scene and was understandably distraught. At this time, Teddy’s father and his family have chosen not to comment. A GoFundMe page has been established to provide support for Odalys and Theodore’s family.
