Miah Mansfield,Jackson Mansfield Obituary, Death; – A man is facing legal charges following a tragic incident in which two children lost their lives in a single-vehicle rollover accident near Springfield, as reported by Smokey Barn News. According to Smokey Barn News, the accident occurred on Friday evening in the 4700 block of Highway 161 at approximately 7:22 p.m.
Brent Dyer, the Director of Robertson County EMS, informed Smokey Barn News that a man was operating the vehicle with two children on board. Officials confirmed that both children succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) reported that Mansfield was traveling west on Highway 161 when he veered off the right side of the road and struck a culvert. Following the initial impact, the vehicle became airborne and collided with a utility pole. The driver declined medical assistance, while the two children, aged four and seven, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to officials.
Lukas Mansfield, 36 years old, is charged with two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and one count of driving under the influence, as stated by the Tennessee Highway Patrol and booking records. The deceased children have been identified as 7-year-old Miah Mansfield and her 4-year-old brother, Jackson Mansfield, according to Smokey Barn News.
Miah’s school, South Haven Christian School in Springfield, issued a statement regarding her untimely death:
“It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we write to inform you of a tragic event that has deeply affected our school family. Yesterday evening, we lost two of our own, Miah Mansfield and her younger brother Jackson, two of our beloved students, who passed away following a tragic accident.
