Melody Waldecker Obituary, – The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to a carjacking incident at the Towncenter Plaza in Sterling, along Route 7, around 11:40 a.m. on Sunday. Melody Waldecker, a 54-year-old woman from Silver Spring, was fatally hit by her own vehicle as the suspect fled the scene.
The suspect is currently in custody, but their identity has not been disclosed as of Monday morning. The sheriff’s office stated that the investigation is ongoing and more charges will be filed. Witnesses who have not yet spoken to law enforcement are urged to contact Detective Rodriquez at 703-777-1021. In a separate case, a Manassas man was arrested in Virginia Beach on Friday for stealing a car from a Dumfries man and causing his death by striking him with the vehicle before fleeing on July 20.
