Megan Bodiford Obituary, Death; – Authorities reported that Megan Bodiford, a 25-year-old mother of three from South Carolina, sent a disturbing text message to her closest friend before her boyfriend allegedly murdered her.
On April 25, Bodiford expressed her fear to a friend that her 28-year-old boyfriend, Jarrett Davis, was planning to harm her. Several days later, she was reported missing. Following the report, deputies obtained a search warrant for the couple’s residence and arrested Davis on a domestic violence charge. Upon their arrival, Bodiford was nowhere to be found, but her 4-month-old infant was present.
Five days later, human remains were discovered in a burned vehicle near a dirt road, less than two miles away from Bodiford’s last known location. Davis was subsequently charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, unlawful possession of a firearm, arson, and desecration of human remains.
Stephanie Nickens, one of Bodiford’s cousins, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic events, emphasizing Bodiford’s positive attributes as a loving mother and kind-hearted individual. She urged others to remember Bodiford for her life rather than her untimely death. Authorities have yet to confirm the identity of the remains found, pending further analysis of DNA and dental records. Davis is currently in custody at the Bamberg County Detention Center.
