Max Van Sickle Obituary – MNPD reported that officers from the West Precinct were dispatched to the Bellevue West Apartments around 4:10 a.m. following a stabbing incident involving two brothers, aged 27 and 25. The older brother, who was stabbed, informed the 911 dispatcher that his sibling was experiencing a “manic episode.”
The deceased individual was identified as 25-year-old Max Van Sickle, who was wielding a large knife and advancing towards the officers in a stairwell at a West Nashville apartment complex. The victim of the stabbing was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Footage from the officers’ body-worn cameras, as well as the 911 call recording, have been made public. The video includes statements from MNPD spokesperson Don Aaron.
The three officers who were involved in the shooting have been reassigned to administrative duties as the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation conducts an inquiry into the incident.
