Max Maffucci Death – On September 4, 2024, at the age of 82, Max Maffucci, who was a respected member of the Wethersfield, Connecticut, community, passed away in a peaceful manner. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Max was born in New Haven, Connecticut, on January 29, 1942, and he lived a life that was characterized by love, hard work, and a profound commitment to loving and serving his family and community.
Max took great pride in his graduation from Central Connecticut State University, where he had completed his studies and received a degree in Business Administration. After that, he went on to establish a prosperous career as the proprietor of a small business, during which he established and ran Maffucci Hardware in Wethersfield for more than four decades. A pillar of the local business community, Max was well-known for his honesty, dedication, and friendly demeanor. He was also known for his integrity. His hardware store was more than just a place of business; it was a gathering place for friends and neighbors, and Max was always there to greet them with a friendly smile, offer helpful advice, and tell a story.
The most important thing in Max’s life was his family. For the past 55 years, he has been a devoted husband to Maria Maffucci. Together, they have become the proud parents of three children: Anthony, Gina, and Lisa. These children have been the source of his greatest happiness and pride. He was a father who was always encouraging his children to pursue their dreams and providing them with the wisdom and guidance they required to be successful. Max was a loving and supportive father. His grandchildren were the source of the greatest joy in his life, and he treasured every moment he was able to spend with them, whether it was attending their sporting events to cheer them on or instructing them in the art of woodworking in his workshop.
Moreover, Max was very active in the community in which he lived. In addition to being an active member of the Wethersfield Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus, and St. Paul’s Church, he served in a variety of capacities within these organizations over the course of his life. His willingness to assist others and his generosity were well-known, and he was always the first to volunteer his time and resources for a worthy cause. He was consistently the first to do so. Every action that Max took was a clear demonstration of his dedication to his neighborhood and his aspiration to have a constructive influence on the people in his immediate vicinity.
In his spare time, Max enjoyed working with wood, tending to his garden, and spending time in the great outdoors. In addition to being well-known for his craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail, he had a strong interest in restoring antique furniture. In addition, Max enjoyed traveling with Maria, and the two of them went to a great number of stunning locations together, making memories that would last a lifetime.
Max is survived by his wife, Maria Maffucci; his children, Anthony Maffucci (and his wife Laura) of Hartford, Gina Rossi (and her husband Michael) of Wethersfield, and Lisa Thompson (and her husband David) of West Hartford; his grandchildren, Sophia, Matteo, Olivia, and Lucas; his sister, Angela Romano, who resides in New Haven; and a large number of extended family members, including nieces, nephews, and close friends. Both of his parents, Giovanni and Teresa Maffucci, as well as his brother, Joseph Maffucci, passed away before he did.
St. Paul’s Church in Wethersfield will be the location of the celebration of a Mass of Christian Burial on September 10, 2024, at ten o’clock in the morning.
