Maurice Elliot Obituary, Death; – A suspect has been identified in connection with the fatal shooting of Maurice Elliot that occurred in December on Newtown Pike.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Lexington Police Department (LPD) named Shawn Blanks, 54, as the individual believed to be responsible for the shooting that took place on December 26.
At approximately 1:56 p.m., law enforcement officials responded to a call regarding an incident in the 400 block of Newtown Pike, where they discovered 63-year-old Elliot suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot of Laundry Connection. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The identification of Blanks was made possible through the collaboration of the police department’s Real-Time Intelligence Center and the Fusus network, as reported by LPD. The department has described Blanks as standing 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing approximately 152 pounds. Authorities have indicated that he is wanted on charges of murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
