Maurice Arrinjuando Turner Obituary, – Birmingham police are currently conducting an investigation into a homicide case following the discovery of a man who had been shot inside his apartment early on Wednesday morning. Officers were called to the 800 block of Jasper Road shortly after 1:30 a.m. in response to a shot spotter notification. Upon arrival, law enforcement did not observe anything suspicious at the scene.
Subsequently, at 1:51 a.m., authorities received another call reporting a person who had been shot. It was then that the police discovered a man inside a residence with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim, identified as 52-year-old Maurice Arrinjuando Turner, was pronounced dead at the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue.
According to the preliminary investigation, Turner was in the kitchen area of his apartment when an individual fired shots through the back door, causing him harm. At the time of the incident, Turner’s roommate was present, stating that they did not witness anything but heard what sounded like fireworks. They found the victim and promptly contacted emergency services. Law enforcement has one individual in custody for questioning.
