Matt Meinrod, a highly regarded figure in the sports nutrition industry and the National Sales Manager at Iron Addicts Brand, has passed away unexpectedly. His wife, Samantha Meinrod, announced his death on October 26, 2024, sharing her profound heartbreak and honouring his memory in a public statement.
“It’s with utter shock & devastation that I share the passing of my husband, Matt Meinrod, on 10/26/24,” Samantha wrote. She also invited friends and colleagues to join a memorial service celebrating his life on November 1, 2024, at Boynton Memorial Chapel in Boynton Beach, Florida.
With over a decade of experience in the sports nutrition industry, Matt was known not only for his expertise in global sales but also for his vibrant personality and competitive spirit. His journey in sales began in earnest as an International Sales Manager at REDCON1, where he quickly made a name for himself, building lasting relationships and driving the brand’s presence globally. He held a Bachelor of Arts in Sport and Fitness Administration from Florida State University, where he was a Division I football player, embodying the competitiveness that would characterize his career.
John Riccio, a close colleague and friend, shared a heartfelt tribute to Matt, recalling the strong camaraderie and rivalry that had defined their relationship at REDCON1. “In 2016, I accepted a job for Aaron Singerman to do sales for Redcon1. By the time I moved to Boca to start selling, Matt had already cherry-picked the best accounts in the country,” Riccio wrote. He recounted the friendly competition between them, often in a small, shared office, celebrating big wins together with an air horn and encouraging each other to excel.
Riccio also highlighted Matt’s personal warmth, his deep love for his family, and his excitement at milestones in his life—from his proposal to Samantha to the announcement of their first child. “Matt was a great colleague, friend, athlete, and most importantly, a father and husband,” Riccio shared. He added, “It pains me to think about him not being with us anymore. I’m forever grateful for the time we spent together and the friendship we created.”
In his professional life, Matt was known for his driven approach to sales and his passion for the sports nutrition world. His journey, from REDCON1 to Iron Addicts Brand, left an indelible mark on colleagues and clients alike, who valued his dedication and competitive edge. To those close to him, Matt will be remembered not only as a sales leader but as a loyal friend, dedicated family man, and a steadfast athlete who gave his all in every endeavor.
Matt Meinrod’s legacy lives on through the family, friends, and colleagues who loved and admired him. The memorial service on November 1 is expected to bring together people from all facets of his life to honor a man who was known for his tenacity, warmth, and heart. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
