Martin Andy Perez Obituary, Death; – The Texas Department of Public Safety is conducting an investigation into a deadly collision involving three vehicles.
According to a news release from DPS, authorities arrived at the scene around 3:29 p.m. on Friday, responding to an incident on SH-107, located east of 493.
Initial findings indicate that a black 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling eastbound on SH-107. Simultaneously, an aqua 1992 Ford Roadster, whose driver was not wearing a seatbelt, was also proceeding in the same direction and attempted to overtake the Chevrolet at a high speed.
The driver of the Ford lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a left-side skid towards the southeast. The Ford veered off the road, striking an unoccupied silver Ford Expedition before colliding with the rear left side of the Chevrolet.
Following the impact with the Chevrolet, the driver of the Ford Roadster was ejected from the vehicle, as stated in the release. He was subsequently transported to Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old Martin Andy Perez, a resident of La Blanca. The investigation into this fatal incident is ongoing by the DPS.
