Martha Saldivar Obituary, Death; – An 81-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries following a two-vehicle collision in Pima County. According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. on January 1 at the intersection of Mark and Valencia.
Upon the arrival of deputies, the driver of one of the vehicles, later identified as 81-year-old Martha Saldivar, was found still inside her vehicle and exhibiting signs of bleeding. Saldivar reported that she felt fine and declined medical assistance. However, deputies advised her to undergo an evaluation, to which she consented.
The two individuals in the other vehicle were also taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Later that evening, the Office of the Medical Examiner informed authorities that Saldivar had passed away as a result of her injuries sustained during surgery.
Preliminary investigations by the PCSD suggest that Saldivar was traveling westbound on Valencia Road when she veered into oncoming traffic, colliding with the other vehicle at the intersection with Mark Road.
