Marsha A. Rotella Obituary, – A fatal crash occurred on Tuesday morning, according to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office. The deceased has been identified as Marsha A. Rotella, a 45-year-old resident of Delhi. Deputies from the sheriff’s office promptly responded to the incident, which involved two vehicles on State Highway 28’s southbound lane at approximately 10 a.m. Rotella, driving a 2007 Jeep Wrangler, was attempting to overtake a 2024 Ford Expedition that was traveling in the same direction.
However, an unrelated vehicle in the northbound lane caused Rotella to veer back into the southbound lane before completing the pass, resulting in a collision with the Expedition. The impact caused Rotella to lose control of her vehicle, leading to it skidding off the highway and overturning. Tragically, she was ejected from the Jeep and pronounced dead at the scene. In order to investigate the crash, the Collision Reconstruction Unit, along with deputies, worked diligently for several hours, leading to the closure of State Highway 28. The Delhi Fire and EMS Departments, County Ambulance, AMR, LifeNet, the New York State Police, and the NYS Department of Transportation all provided assistance at the scene.
