Marques Valntae Johnson Obituary, Death;- Durham authorities have disclosed the identity of a 40-year-old man who was fatally shot on Saturday morning.
The Durham Police Department reported that officers were dispatched at approximately 6:21 a.m. to the 1400 block of New Castle Road following a report of a gunshot wound. Upon their arrival, law enforcement officials discovered an individual who had sustained gunshot injuries.
“The victim was pronounced dead at the scene,” stated the Durham police in a news release issued on Saturday. Investigators remained on the scene for several hours to ascertain the details surrounding the incident, according to police.
On Monday, the victim was identified as Marques Valntae Johnson, aged 40. The news release indicated, “This is an ongoing investigation and appears to be an isolated incident. Further information will be provided at the appropriate time.”
