The family of a 75-year-old architect, who was allegedly stabbed to death by his son, has expressed their grief over the “tragic loss.”
Rory Talbot, 30, of Wandsworth, was charged on Saturday with the murder of his father, Mark Talbot. He is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Mark Talbot was discovered dead at his home in Putney in the early hours of Friday morning. Police responded to the scene at 3:36 a.m. after receiving reports of a stabbing. Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service attended to Mr. Talbot, but despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement, Mr. Talbot’s family said: “We are grateful for the support provided by police, our neighbours, and others. We ask that our privacy is respected while we come to terms with the tragic loss of a highly respected member of the community.”
Mr. Talbot served as the director of two companies, Blade Mews Management and Stoutheart, and had been listed as secretary of the latter since 1999, according to Companies House.
Detective Superintendent Amanda Mawhinney of the South West Command Unit said: “We are supporting the family of a man who tragically lost his life in the early hours of this morning.
“I understand that the community may feel shocked by this incident. However, we believe it to be isolated and do not consider there to be a wider threat to the public.
“Our investigation continues, and we need the community’s help to piece together what happened. If you were in the area around 3 a.m. and saw or heard anything unusual, please contact us immediately.
“You may notice an increased police presence in the area today as we conduct our enquiries. A scene remains in place, along with road closures. Please feel free to approach our officers if you have any concerns or information to share
