A Madison man who died after a wrong-way crash on Interstate 95 has been identified as a husband and owner of MapAutodetailing, according to state police. He was a graduate of the University of New Haven and a well-known stylist at Madison Avenue Salons.
The accident occurred Wednesday shortly after 8 p.m. According to investigators, Mark Palumbo, 47, was driving a Mustang GT southbound on the highway between exits 66 and 65 in Westbrook. Meanwhile, a Cadillac ATS Luxury was going north in the southbound lanes around the same location. According to state police, the two crashed, and Palumbo died at the spot as a result of his injuries. The driver of the Cadillac was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital for mediation.
