Mario Hieb Obituary, Death;- A man from Tracy tragically lost his life on Monday afternoon when his vehicle collided with a tree along Canal Boulevard, located northeast of Tracy.

On Wednesday, the San Joaquin County Office of the Medical Examiner confirmed the identity of the deceased as 40-year-old Mario Hieb from Tracy. According to a news release from the California Highway Patrol, officers from the Tracy Area CHP office were dispatched at 12:45 p.m. following reports of the accident on Canal Boulevard.

Officers reported that a 2008 Chevrolet Impala was traveling east on Canal Boulevard, just west of Berry Avenue, at an undetermined speed when, for reasons yet to be established, the vehicle veered off the southern edge of the road and lost control. The car subsequently collided with a tree north of Canal Boulevard, resulting in Hieb’s death, as he was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The CHP indicated that no other vehicles were involved in the incident. It remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, which is currently under investigation. • For further information, please contact the Tracy Press at [email protected] or call 835-3030.
