Marco Macias Obituary, Death; – The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) has confirmed the identity of a 23-year-old who lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Nolensville Pike on Sunday.
According to police reports, Marco Macias, a resident of Nashville, was operating his BMW S1000RR at a high rate of speed when he collided with a Chevrolet Silverado that was entering the roadway from a parking lot. Following this initial impact, Macias veered across the road and struck a Jeep Compass traveling northbound.
Tragically, Macias succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the female driver of the Compass and her 2-year-old son were taken to a medical facility for evaluation and treatment of minor injuries. Authorities have indicated that excessive speed on the part of Macias appears to be a significant factor in the incident. The MNPD urges motorcyclists to ensure visibility, maintain safe distances, remain vigilant of other drivers, and wear helmets.
