GASTONIA, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Police released more details on a crash that killed one person and hurt three others, including a young girl.
According to the Gastonia Police Department, a four-car collision occurred around 8 p.m. on Friday, March 28, in the 1500 block of Hoffman Road.
A white Dodge Challenger reportedly struck a Toyota Highlander head-on with three occupants- a driver and two juvenile girls. Officials said the driver of the Challenger, 36-year-old Porscha Mason, was killed at the scene.
The woman driving the Highlander and one of the girls suffered critical injuries, and the other girl was released from the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the drivers of the other two vehicles, a red Dodge Charger and a black Toyota Camry, were not seriously hurt.
It’s unclear what led to the crash, but police say speed may have been a factor. This is still an active investigation and anyone who saw the crash or has any information should call Sgt. Lane at 980-421-8474.
