Fabieus Mark Myers, 55, of Hays, died as a result of his injuries while being transported by EMS to an area hospital, according to N.C. Highway Patrol Master Trooper Christopher Casey in a news release to The Wilkes Record. A Hays man was murdered Thursday afternoon, July 11, when the motorbike he was riding with his dog ejected him in the Roaring River Community.
According to Casey, “On Thursday, July 11, at around 2 p.m., the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatal collision in Wilkes County on Bethany Ford Road near Royal Hill Road. A 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle moving north on Bethany Ford Road collided with a dog in the road.
The driver lost control of the motorcycle as a result of this incident. The rider was ejected when the motorcycle overturned.” “The initial investigation indicates speed and alcohol were not contributing circumstances in the collision,” Casey said, adding that Bethany Ford Road was closed in the area for about an hour for the on-scene investigation.
