CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman was killed following a crash in east Charlotte on Christmas.
Arrest records show 21-year-old Dreshon Moreno was booked on New Year’s Eve, five days after the incident, for murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon. He’s being held without bond.
Kennedi Aniyah Flora Jones was pronounced dead at a hospital following a crash on Dec. 25 at 11:20 p.m. in the 4800 block of Shamrock Drive, near Hickory Grove Road.
According to court documents, Moreno stole Jones’ phone and threatened to shoot her with a pistol. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Jones with life-threatening injuries in a vehicle down an embankment.
His first court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, Jan 2.
