Madalyn Robinson Obituary, Death; – A 16-year-old girl who tragically lost her life in a collision early Saturday morning was identified as an 11th-grade student at Herculaneum High School, according to the school district.
“We are profoundly saddened by the passing of Madalyn Robinson, an 11th-grade student at Herculaneum High School,” the statement read. “Maddy lost her life due to a vehicular accident that occurred early Saturday morning.” The district indicated that families from Herculaneum High School have shared information regarding resources that will be accessible to students upon their return to classes on Tuesday.
“We understand that this loss will impact each individual in various ways, and the Dunklin R-5 School District is dedicated to providing support to our community during this difficult period,” the statement continued.
As reported by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident took place around 1 a.m. The report detailed that a 16-year-old girl was operating a Ford Ranger on Sunrise School Road, accompanied by a 15-year-old passenger. Authorities stated that the vehicle veered off the right side of the road and collided with an embankment, resulting in the vehicle overturning.
The report indicated that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. Emergency Medical Services pronounced her dead at the scene. The passenger was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
