Lyle Stewart Obituary, Death – Another challenging day has passed, as we have suffered the loss of a friend and colleague. Over the course of a protracted fight against cancer, Lyle Stewart, a long-time member of the Legislative Assembly for the Saskatchewan Party and a former Minister of Agriculture, passed away at the age of 73.
Between the years 1999 and his departure from politics in the previous year, Lyle served as the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Thunder Creek and Lumsden-Morse. During that time, he was an integral part of our team. However, despite the fact that Lyle was a guy of few words, which is rare for a politician, you were constantly aware of his positioning. His unassuming fortitude and unwavering commitment to the population he served served as a model for each and every one of us who served with him.
I shall miss Lyle very much because he was a wonderful buddy of mine. I would like to offer my most sincere sympathies to Lyle Stewart’s family and the many friends he had. I am doing it on behalf of our government and the province. In recognition of his dedication, the flags at the Legislature will be lowered to half-staff.
