Luis Moreno Obituary, Death; – A man was fatally shot on Monday evening in the parking lot of a strip mall located in north suburban Mundelein. According to police reports, officers were dispatched at approximately 7:10 p.m. following notifications of gunfire in the parking area situated in the 700 block of South Lake Street.
Upon their arrival, law enforcement officials discovered that a man had sustained gunshot wounds and had been transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased. The individual who brought the victim to the hospital departed prior to the police’s arrival.
The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Luis Moreno from Wheeling. An autopsy revealed that he succumbed to multiple gunshot injuries. The Mundelein Police Department, in conjunction with the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force, is actively pursuing a homicide investigation.
